•After completing your first year, you will start to gain responsibilities and have more access to company resources. With more access to customers and internal resources, you will be expected to achieve greater accomplishments
•Scalability is very important at this point in time, as you have to progress in your career. There has to be a difference between your tasks and achievements in your second year as compared to in your first year
•Depending on your circumstances and ambitions, you should have established yourself in a value adding role in your company, you should have built cordial and favourable relations internally and externally, as well as developed your subject matter knowledge to a level beyond basic proficiency
•Armed with all the attributes above, be bold in pushing the envelope to see how much farther you can go within your organisation. Do not settle for the simple or easy tasks. Seek higher challenges, volunteer yourself into areas beyond your immediate role at an entry level at first. Proceed cautiously, do not overstep limits but be willing to explore beyond your immediate role. This would be in pursuit of knowledge, not credit or validation, at first. Eventually when you can string multiple roles together, that would put you on the path towards team lead or manager. The ability to integrate multiple roles, team, resources is a key leadership quality
