Gaining Seniority(1)

•After your probation, you will be approaching the end of your first year. The first year is the second major milestone in any career path. Impressions made within the first year whether good or bad are rarely reversed later on. Such is the mindset of an organisation where everyone is very job focused and evaluations and judgments are made on a surface level. It is imperative to operate carefully and strategically in the first year

•Build relations within your team first and foremost. If you are focused on self-education, you will have something to share within your team. As such, your team mates will reciprocate in the sharing. If you have nothing to share, then they may not feel so compelled to share with you. To get something, you may have to give something. This is not always the case but once again, it is undisputed that if you share, you will receive something in return whereas if you share nothing, the chances of you receiving anything are definitely less. Always remember that strategy involves an action to gain a reward. Just hoping to gain anything by doing nothing or not having a plan will inevitably lead to failure
